Singapore, January 27, 2024 – In a landmark agreement, Singapore South Asia Chamber Commence and Industry Limited (SSACCI) and The Global Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration and mutual benefit for their respective members.
The MoU, signed on January 27, 2024, solidifies the commitment of SSACCI and GCCI to work together across various sectors, promoting business opportunities, trade, and investments between their members in South Asia, Singapore, and the United States.
Key points of collaboration outlined in the MoU include:
- Business Facilitation: SSACCI and GCCI will collaborate to facilitate business opportunities, trade, and investments, enhancing economic ties and opening new avenues for businesses in their respective regions.
- Market Access and Expansion: The Parties will assist businesses in accessing and expanding their operations in South Asia, Singapore, and the United States, providing a platform for global market growth.
- Capacity Building: SSACCI and GCCI will exchange expertise and resources to support the capacity building of their members, ensuring they are well-equipped for success in the international market.
- Knowledge Sharing: The Parties will engage in the exchange of information, research, and insights on market trends, regulatory changes, and business opportunities, fostering an environment of continuous learning and adaptability.
- Advocacy and Representation: SSACCI and GCCI will jointly advocate for policies that promote bilateral trade and economic cooperation, working towards creating a favorable business environment.
- Membership and Partnership Exchange: The Parties will explore opportunities for collaboration between their respective membership networks, including corporate members, educational institutions, individual members, trade associations, and other stakeholders, creating a global network of opportunities.
Confidentiality, mutual assistance in setting up representative offices, a five-year duration, and provisions for amendments through written agreements are also part of this comprehensive collaboration.
Dr. Chinnu Palanivelu, Chairman of SSACCI, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “This strategic collaboration with GCCI signifies a step towards global business integration. We look forward to fostering mutually beneficial relationships for our members.”
